In this collection of original woodcut prints and writing, we see insights brought by Santa Barbara's seasons and settings to one of its natives. Patti Jaquemain is a talented artist who has unconsciously absorbed the moods and the color of the yearly cycle in her homeland over all of her life. Now, consciously, she translates her personal impressinos of those moods and colors.
Former Director, Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History
Patti Jaquemain grew up on a Santa Barbara ranch. On graduation from high school, she was awarded a scholarship to Choinard Art Institute in Los Angeles. She earned her BA in Painting and later her MFA in Printmaking at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Through the years her art has been exhibited from coast to coast in a score of galleries and a number of regional museums. Her work is found in both private and corporate collections. UNICEF chose one of her woodcut prints as a greeting card for international distribution. She was honored as Distinguished Alumna by the Santa Barbara High School Alumni Association in 1989.
