The Artist & The Great Bear profiles California artist Patti Jacquemain. Patti's mission is to inspire concern for wildlife using the now extinct California grizzly bear as in iconic symbol of species loss. Within her uniquely crafted Dome of the Great Bear, located in Santa Barbara, Patti inspires visitors with evocative mosaic tile depictions of the last of the California grizzly bears.
Patti Jaquemain is the founder of the Wildling Museum of Art & Nature. The Wildling is dedicated to the presentation of visual art that inspires visitors to enjoy, value and conserve wildlife and natural areas. In addition, the artist is the inspiration behind the non-profit Creekspirit Foundation which engages in educational activities for both adults and children focused upon conservation and awareness of the essential value of wild things and wild places.
